NLBMDA is excited to announce that Rep. Bill Johnson (R-OH) will be a featured speaker during the Washington Briefing breakfast at the Spring Meeting and Legislative Conference to be held from March 18-20 at the Crystal City Marriott in Alrington, Virginia.
Rep. Johnson entered the U.S. Air Force in 1973, and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel after a distinguished military career of more than 26 years.
Following his retirement from military service, Johnson turned to creating and building high technology businesses. He cofounded Johnson-Schley Management Group, Inc., an information technology (IT) consulting company. From 2006 through 2010, Johnson served as Chief Information Officer of a global manufacturer of highly engineered electronic components for the transportation industry headquartered in Northeast Ohio.
Rep. Johnson was reelected to a second term this past November and now serves on the Energy and Commerce Committee.
Senator Angus King Jr. (I-ME) to Address NLBMDA Members
On January 3, 2013, Angus S. King, Jr. was sworn in as Maine's first Independent United States
Senator. Senator King joins a long line of independent leaders from the State of Maine. He is a steadfast believer in the need for greater bipartisan dialogue and relationship building among legislators.
In 1994, Senator King was elected Maine's 71st Governor. During his two terms in the Blaine House, he focused on economic development and job creation, and also achieved significant reforms in education, mental health services, land conservation, environmental protection, and the delivery of state services. He was re-elected in 1998 by one of the largest margins in Maine's history.
