Industry Issue Breakout Sessions Announced:

The Changing Landscape of Green Building Requirements

The evolution of green building codes and standards, climate change and other environmental concerns are changing not only the way homes and commercial buildings are designed, constructed and sited, they are driving obligations that manufacturers of building materials and assemblies declare the cradle to grave environmental impacts of their products including how those declarations must be made. This session will inform attendees on the status of LEED, ICC, and ASHRAE green building codes and standards, the push for certified Environmental Product Declarations, emerging federal green product purchasing specifications, and the Federal Trade Commission's green guides impacting the manufacture, selection, sale and use of building materials and assemblies.

Enforcement actions by EPA are expanding and new more stringent regulations governing the renovation and repair of homes and buildings are a growing possibility adding to the already onerous requirements. This session will inform attendees of EPA's latest enforcement activities, their perspective on further regulations, and the potential impact on the renovation industry.
