The joint networking reception is the perfect time to meet new business associates and catch up with old ones. Not only will you be able to participate in a relaxed and fun social event, you will be able to make an impact on the industry’s legislative initiatives by participating in the evening’s silent auction benefiting WDMA's and NLBMDA’s advocacy efforts.

*Congressman Buddy Carter (R-GA-01)

*Senator Mike Braun (R-IN)

The annual Washington Briefing Breakfast will feature keynote remarks from Members of Congress, Federal Agencies, or industry partners who will give insight on what it takes to effectively communicate the message of the industry during Capitol Hill visits and back at home. They will also provide an overview of the current atmosphere on the Hill and in the Trump administration.

Issue Briefings
Tuesday, March 24
8:45 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.

Government relations staff will review the specific talking points to help you to effectively communicate the industry’s position on key issues during the Capitol Hill and federal agency visits. During this session staff will answer any questions that you may and provide tips on how to get our message across clearly and effectively.

Capitol Hill and Federal Agency Visits
Tuesday, March 24
10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Your elected officials rely on feedback from their constituents to keep them apprised of the economic climate and to provide real-world feedback on how legislative actions impact employers and jobs in their communities. In addition, federal agency officials often do not get to hear from the business people that their proposed regulations will impact directly. During the conference, attendees will have the opportunity to visit their members of Congress on Capitol Hill and/or meet with federal agency representatives to discuss industry issues and concerns.

Capitol Hill Legislative Reception
Tuesday, March 24
5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.

Following visits to Capitol Hill offices, share your thoughts on your Congressional visits with your friends and colleagues at the annual Legislative Reception. Members of Congress and their key staff members are also invited to attend and it serves as a perfect way to show appreciation for our supporters on Capitol Hill.

Your elected officials rely on feedback from constituents like you to keep them apprised of the economic climate and to provide real-world knowledge on how legislative actions impact employers and jobs in their communities. In addition, federal agency officials often do not get to hear from the business people that their proposed regulations will impact directly. During the conference, attendees will have the opportunity to visit their members of Congress on Capitol Hill and/or meet with federal agency representatives to discuss industry issues and concerns. All Lumber Dealers should coordinate their appointments with their respective State or Regional Association.

Members of the Manufacturers and Services Council are encouraged to join our dealer members as they visit congressional offices and educate lawmakers during our Advocacy Day on the Hill. This is a great opportunity to experience the political process, hear firsthand about the issues impacting our industry, and show support for dealers from across the country. If you are interested in joining dealers on their congressional hill appointments and sponsorship opportunities contact NLBMDA staff at membersupport@dealer.org and we will be happy to coordinate.

Please reach out to membersupport@dealer.org with any questions about conference programming.
