Committees

NLBMDA Committees offer members an opportunity to have their voices heard on the issues they are most passionate about! Joining a committee gives members the opportunity to grow their network, advance their professional career, and give back to the industry.

Legislative Advocacy Committee (LAC)

The Legislative Advocacy Committee works with our government affairs staff to monitor, and where appropriate weigh-in, on legislative issues affecting the lumber and building material industry. In addition, the Committee annually approves the National Policy Agenda to ensure the public policy priorities of NLBMDA address the opportunities and threats faced by dealers.

Regulatory, Codes and Standards Committee (RCSC)

The Regulatory, Codes and Standards Committee identifies, monitors, and responds to developments at federal regulatory agencies that will or have the potential to impact the Lumber and Building Materials sector, such as OSHA and EPA. The committee also monitors and responds as necessary to organizations overseeing the development and maintenance of codes and standards, such as green building standards development bodies and the American Lumber Standards Committee. The committee also develops educational material when it determines guidance or compliance material is appropriate for the general membership and provides input on topics and content for educational webinars.
